There are so many different styles of bullet journals shared all over social media! It’s really fun to get to see what other people create in their bullet journals. It’s amazing to see how other people’s work inspires our own results, as well.
I started my first bullet journal in October 2016. I’ve learned a lot about myself through my bullet journal. The bullet journal system has been a life changer for so many users. I’ve also learned about what exists in the bullet journal community! There are thousands, if not millions, of bullet journal spreads of all shapes and sizes.
Additionally, I love to figure out patterns within my interests. I discovered that most bullet journal spreads actually fall into one of six categories. These six categories showcase similar types of styles, talents, tendencies, and interests.
Whether you’re solid in your bullet journal style or you’re new, I created a fun bullet journal quiz to help match you to your bullet journal style!
Even better, when you’re done with your quiz, I’ve connected bullet journal tools and accounts that correspond with the different bullet journal styles!

I’m “Adaptable”. Results were spot on! Described me to a T! Lots of fun. Thanks for creating!
I didn’t receive the answer
Another “Adaptable” here, and that feels right to me. I’ve experimented with adding scrapbook-style bits recently (my travel diary of my summer vacation trip), and it’s been a lot of fun! But I do love my more traditional trackers and such. And color!!!! Color is so important to me.
I think my style, Adaptable, is exactly right. Thanks for doing this.
Joining the ranks of Adaptable 😊 I started my bullet journal addiction about a year and a half ago…and I pretty much do what I feel like or what I am in the mood for 😊
Quiz results are spot on! I wasn’t sure how to answer a few of the questions, but it seems I chose the best answer. I keep saying, “yep” after reading the results. Now I just need get past the procrastination and fear of my bujo not looking perfect! I read one of the articles you suggests and I look forward to reading a couple of the books. Thank you, Rachel!
Adaptable! That’s me! Love the ideas you provide in your blog!
I got my results, but I am confused on mine traditionalist, managerial and artist appeared in equal amounts. Now I know this is not real, but it is fun, does this mean I am all three? I am just starting officially, however, I have done a form of this utilizing a journal or organizer for years. Now I am trying it for three areas because my life “transformed” this year and I need to start tracking some areas. So I am purchasing more supplies. Thanks. Joan oh live your site!
Hi Joan!
Actually, I find that people who have more than one more likely fall into ‘Adaptive’, which means that you use multiple styles. I should see if there is a way if people get a ‘tie’ it automatically moves to Adaptive, but most people don’t get multiple results!
I’m so glad you love the site. Good luck with your journey!
Rachel
I feel like I should be inventive but ok
I fell into these “Inventive” type, but after reading the description of each, I feel that I fall more into these “Adaptive” style. That’s ok though, it was interesting to see what my style is and all the styles that there are. I just started my very FIRST Bullet Journal and have been looking for inspiration EVERYWHERE .. YouTube, Pinterest, online searches, etc., etc.!! I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me!! Thank you for all your great information for beginners!!! Have a blessed New Year!!
I originally took the test this morning and received almost the same percentage for each style. Adaptability was 30%, 20% for two other categories (Artist and Traditionalist?), Managerial 10%, and I’m not sure for the other ones. However, I just retook it late this evening and received 40% Managerial which is one of the lower ones that I received this morning and10% for adaptable which was the highest this morning. Perhaps this shows that I am truly adaptable? Yet I’m also a bit confused as to why I received almost no results for Studygrammar as I plan to use this journal at least 50% for college. Plus some of the uses that were listed for a Studygrammar I plan to use in my journal. Although I admit my results may be a bit off simply because I haven’t actually started bullet journaling yet, I have a ton of ideas but am unsure which ones to actually use, and when it asked where I plan to journal I clicked “my home office” (I’ll be using either my dorm room or the office I have at my family’s home). I feel that my style may change as begin journaling more (I previously only kept diaries and planners).
I started looking at the links under Studygrammar and I only found one that still works the Planning Mindfully “Bullet Journals for School: 13 Reasons Why Students Should Have One”. The other links either led to nothing (alimastudies) or had no posts (marryberrystudy). Are there any other sites, blogs, or resources that you can suggest if I am interested in this type of journaling? If I find some myself via my own research should I share them with you in some way?
I got inventive and I’m happy with the results 🙂
I relate with quiz… But i also had some dought … I don’t know which bullet journal I had to buy… 🍁✨
I am absolutely ” Adaptable, ” your quiz was spot on for me. I do like to follow my own muse , with the go ahead from myself to change course. I am a beginner and your quiz is a great place to start for those of us who don’t have any idea of how to determine our style, or why we might need or want to.
Thanks for answering all of those questions, in a manner that “newbies,” can understand.
